The WLGA officially kicked off the 2010 season with a well attended “Coffee Kick-Off” meeting; followed by a picture-perfect first day of play, on April 1^st.  We were excited with the participation which included many returning players and numerous new members. We continue to encourage any interested ladies to join us on Thursday mornings. Sign-up is required each week no later than the Wednesday prior by calling or emailing the pro-shop.

The WLGA is supporting the Lake Christian Ministries’ group with their efforts in collecting items for distribution to disaster victims.  A special box has been made available just inside the entrance of the club house.  The items we are looking for are in keeping with a “Spring Cleaning” theme.  They include household soaps, cleaners and personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap.  Also needed are women’s items and baby items such as diapers.

We are looking forward to another fun season of golf as well as scheduled non-golf socials.  If you have any questions or are interested in joining us; please contact the pro shop.

Calling all lady golfers!

It’s time to shake off those winter blues and think spring. Better yet, think golf.  The start of the Westlake Ladies Golf Association’s 2010 season is just around the corner.  The upcoming season promises to be full of wonderful opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones; all while enjoying the course and working on your game.

Everyone is welcomed to join us at the Westlake Golf and Country Club for our Thursday, March 25th, at 9:00 am “Coffee Kick-off” meeting.  We are always looking for new players and fresh ideas.  We will discuss the upcoming schedule and provide information on Westlake sponsored events.  The Roanoke Region Association invitational dates will also be provided.

The Westlake Women’s Golf Association welcomed and presented gifts the newest member of the McBride family on December 17th, 2009. Liam McBride (the guest of honor) provided entertainment with his best “sleep and squeak” impression.

The Women’s Golf Association would like to thank all those who made last year such a success and look forward to the 2010 season.  The “Spring Coffee Meeting” is scheduled for March 25th with the first day of play on April 1st, 2010.
