Club Manager’s Corner April Update

By: Mickey Martin, Club Manager

Welcome to Spring!  I trust by the time you read this that all of you have finally dug out from the winter weather and donned a few of your summer clothes.  We are looking forward to a very active and busy season here at the club with many golf outings and tournaments lined up for you over the next few months.  As always, I hope you will find time to stop by the grille and have lunch with us.

Daylight Savings Time began in March, so we will be keeping the Clubhouse open until 6 p.m. throughout the month when there are golfers on the course. When there is either cold or inclement weather, we will be closing at 5 p.m. At some point, we will once again offer our delicious breakfast buffet seven days a week.  As you know, right now it is only served Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m.

I trust from all the positive comments received that all of you enjoyed our Valentine’s Dinner and I would like to invite you for our Easter Brunch Buffet on Sunday, April 4th. Our Chef has created a fantastic menu for the event.

Please make your reservations early or for more information please call the Clubhouse at 721-4215.  The seating times available range from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and this event will most certainly sell out.

And finally, I would like to take the opportunity to welcome our new members. As always, I look forward to continually improving your club and I am receptive to any ideas or suggestions you may have.

Manager’s Corner March Update

By: Mickey Martin, Club Manager

With the change in seasons, we will be revamping our lunch menu once again with some of your “old favorites” and many new items for you to enjoy. I hope that when you’re thinking of going out for lunch, you’ll include us in your plans. I would also like to remind you that we continue to offer our breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m.

The items on the buffet include scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage or country ham, biscuits, gravy, freshly cut fruit, and toast with butter and assorted jellies. When the weather warms up a little, we intend to go back to breakfast service 7 days a week but even if you’re not lucky enough to be playing golf, you can still stop by in the morning for a nice, hot breakfast in a great, friendly environment. Daylight Savings Time begins on March 14th so we will be keeping the Clubhouse open until 6 p.m. after that date when there are golfers on the course. On other days when there is either cold or inclement weather, we will be closing at 5:00 p.m. As always, I am looking forward to continually improve your club and I am receptive to any ideas or suggestions you may have.  I hope to see all of you at your Club soon.

Manager’s Corner January February

MickeyMartin

By: Mickey Martin

A s 2009 draws to a close, I would like to once again say how much I truly appreciate the opportunity afforded me to be your Club Manager here at The Westlake Golf and Country Club. I have had the great privilege of meeting most of the members and patrons of our Club and look forward to making the first acquaintance of others.

Please remember that I am always open to suggestions and comments that you feel will improve the quality of time you spend here. During my first year here, I have heard many comments on how much improved the food and service have gotten.

We have encountered a few bumps and bruises along the way but I believe we have the momentum to have a wonderful 2010 at The Westlake. With that being said, I want to thank all the staff of the Club for their hard work and dedication to constantly improve our members and guests experiences here.

Please visit us as often as you can during the winter months and don’t forget to make your Valentines’ Dinner reservations as soon as possible.  Last years’ dinner sold out very quickly and this year it is sure to do the same.  This year the dinner will be held on Saturday, February 13th as opposed to true Valentines’ Day February 14th.

Another year is upon us and it should be a time to think about renewal and the chance to focus on positive change. Life and time moves by so quickly we all need to take time each day to be grateful for the relationships and amenities that we often take for granted. I would like to sincerely wish all of you a healthy and joyful 2010.

Club Manager’s Corner December Update

By: Mickey Martin

MickeyMartin

As 2009 draws to a close, I and the entire staff of The Westlake Golf and Country Club would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a joyous Holiday Season and a healthy and prosperous New Year. We have had the pleasure this past calendar year of meeting and working with many terrific people and for that we are grateful.  As the New Year approaches, you will notice that we will be trying some new ideas and activities to generate more member interest and involvement with the Club.  This will begin with our Christmas Member Mingle, Dinner, and Christmas Gift Exchange on December 12th.  I hope that all of you will take the opportunity to bring out a few friends and share a little Holiday Cheer with us. With that in mind, please remember that memberships are the lifeblood of any club. I encourage you to speak with friends, family, and colleagues about the opportunity to become a member of The Westlake. We as a staff here will do our part to make you proud to recommend it to others. Christmas is just around the corner and I would like to remind you that we continue to offer some of the best values and settings for your Holiday party. We have some dates still available at this time, but they are going fast. Please call the club to book your event soon. I would also like to remind our members that we will be closing at our regular time on New Year’s Eve but we have arranged for you to be able to have a delightful evening at our sister club The Waterfront.  Please contact me here at the club to make your reservations.
